The organisation also values someone who is willing to be hands-on, stepping in to create newsletters or other materials as required.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a communications and external affairs strategy to raise the organisation’s profile and influence participation in its mission.
- Craft and disseminate a range of communications, from press releases to policy consultations, reports to newsletters, engaging with journalists and political stakeholders.
- Manage the day-to-day running of the Communications Team, coordinating workload and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Enhance the organisation’s visibility and influence, proactively managing stakeholder engagement to position it as a leader in addressing structural racism.
- Constantly reprioritise workload in line with the demands of the mission.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in communications and external affairs roles, with a focus on developing and implementing strategies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft, write, and disseminate various types of communications.
- Experience working with journalists and political stakeholders.
- Organised individual with the ability to reprioritize workload in alignment with organizational goals.
